The Solarmundo research and development company in Belgium with its pilot plant at Liege was closed down after successful proof of concept of the Linear Fresnel technology for solar thermal steam generation.

Subsequently, Solar Power Group GmbH (SPG), Munich, Germany has been founded by a part of Solarmundo's team members for swift project development and further commercialisation.
